Stuttgart Surge won their season opening game against Frankfurt Galaxy impressively and took an important first step.

Every year, the teams want to reach and win the Championship Game. This season, however, Surge's motivation is likely to be particularly high. After all, this year's ELF Championship Game will take place on September 7th at the MHP Arena in Stuttgart.

Stuttgart Surge would therefore not only have the chance to win their first ELF title, but also one at home.

Surge with impressive start to the season against Galaxy

There is still a long way to go, but a first step has been taken. Surge won 33:20 against Frankfurt Galaxy and showed that we can expect a lot from them this season.

"I'm happy with the way we ran the ball. I'm very happy with the way we were balanced offensively, and I think our defense did a good job," Surge head coach Jordan Neuman summed up the game from his perspective.

On the field, Surge looked electric. Quarterback Reilley Hennessey delivered as usual, contributing nearly 200 passing yards, a passing touchdown as well as two more touchdowns on the ground. Running back Tomiwa Oyewo showed that he was a good offseason signing with 122 rushing yards. The defense was a little too strong for the much improved Frankfurt Galaxy.

The first impression is promising, but the coming weeks will show if Stuttgart Surge can make a deep playoff run in 2025.
